What We Do / Off-site Backlinks

External Link Building

Step 3 Of Performing SEO

Off-site backlinking gives your site higher ‘search credibility’ to climb up

What Is Off-Site Backlinking?

While on-site optimization ensures that Google ranks you in the search engine, it doesn’t necessary mean Google ranks you very high. The difference between your website ranking on page 10 of Google and another website ranking on page 1 of Google, simply means that there are 9 pages of websites (each page has 10 websites) that Google finds more ‘credible’ than your website.

Off-site backlinking hence is a process to grow your website ‘credibility’, better known in technical terms as Domain Authority. The higher your domain authority, the higher you rank up in the search engine.

What Is Web Credibility aka Domain Authority?

Every website has an authority score, which you can easily check on Moz.com or Ahrefs.com. (Note that different tools might give a slightly different number, as they have different methodologies of counting the score). This score is not based on how popular or credible your business is. It is based on how other websites interact with your website.

To understand the theory, imagine your website as a real person. If 3 trustworthy online friends (an educational website, a news outlet, a bank) talks about you (meaning they hyperlink to your site), you are seen as a credible person online. But if the 3 online friends are websites with spam and fraud, mixing with them will make your website not trustworthy in Google terms.

Therefore, Google trace every single link found on the Internet, and paints a big iceberg of links under every website. The more trustworthy sites hyperlinking to your website, the stronger your credibility, the higher you climb. The process of off-site backlinking, also known as external link building, is where vendors builds a network of credible links to point back to your website.

So Can I Buy Links From Fiverr? Why Is There A Huge Range Of Prices?

Every link from a different platform has a different naming convention to it. For instance, a link coming from social media is known as a Social Signal, while a link coming from a business directory is known as a Local Listing. Every Google algorithm change from Panda, to Penguin and more, change the weightage of how Google distributes credibility to a website based on the types of links. A .edu link is akin to a Lionel Messi in a soccer team, 10,000 times more powerful than anything you purchase from Fiverr.

Therefore every agency and vendor has their own secret formula in combining different types of link types to different degrees, to push a website up a search engine.

Does Writing Articles Ranks My Website Up?

Yes it does, and that is why it is common to find Wikipedia and many blogs on the top of the search engine. Content is oxygen to the search engine. The search engine breathes on it. The only negative about article writing is the amount of time and effort needed to be put in. You probably need a few hundred articles of at least 500 words each, to push up a moderate to high difficulty niche. Hence vendors combine both techniques – article writing and link building, in conquering the top spot of Google

What Sort Of Backlinking Do You Do?

A major portion of SEO is focused on external link building, which needs to be executed the right way, to be in line with Google guidelines. Your SEO campaign will consist of a carefully planned and diversified execution of the following types of links:

  • Local Business Listings
  • High Authority (DA20+, 30+, 40+) Guest Posts
  • Diversified Link Building
  • Press Releases
  • Social Signals
  • Content Marketing
  • Immunisation Against Negative SEO

These links are build monthly to ensure that is monthly consistency (to avoid been hit by Penguin Algorithm). Treat google like a princess, where you need to consistently shower her with love for months in order to win her favour. Do it inconsistently and she will send “Google Penguin” to hit on your site.

In additional, Google today values quality link over quantity. A backlink with a Domain Authority Score of 50+ is 1000 times better than 100,000 fiverr backlinks with a score of DA10+. It is like 1 fighter jet versus 100,000 soldiers. The fighter jet will wipe them out instantaneously. Therefore you don’t need 100,000 of links. You just need strong quality links build consistently over time with regular article writing, to rank high.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some echoing questions that we hear from time to time. You may find some help to your questions with the links below. Alternatively, don't hesitate to contact us via email or WhatsApp should you need further information.

Unless you are an established website like BBC or Wikipedia, you will not get high rankings or good backlinks simply by writing great content. Backlinks are a key component in how Google (and by extension the other search engines that don't quite have as much of a market share as Google) assesses a website's eligibility to be placed higher up in the search results pages. You can have a website with the best content, the best design, hosted on the fastest servers, and have all the technical SEO aspects perfectly taken care of, but if your website don't have a single backlink pointing to it, chances are it will be 'invisible' in the search engines. This is undeniable.

Having fresh, useful posts regularly on your website is one of the best ways to achieve good rankings. They will attract visitors and provide new content for bots to index. Other sites may also link to the new information, increasing your domain authority and number of backlinks. But good content alone is not enough to get high rankings. It needs to be supplemented with a good comprehensive SEO strategy that covers link building and good on-site SEO architecture.

As part of our strategic planning, we do "competitive analysis" which includes "spying" on your competitors that are ranking highly in the search results, where you want your website to be. But not to worry! The "spying" tactics we refer to are totally legal, as they rely on readily available data which most non-SEO's don't know where to find or how to read. As SEO is partly a zero sum game, where you have to displace an incumbent to rank high up in the search results, competitive analysis or (legal) competitive spying is necessary. What is involved in this competitor spying? Again, note that all these information and data are readily available via SEO tools, some from Google itself, and involve NO hacking or 'social engineering' or deception whatsoever. For some of them, it's as simple as using the browser's check source code function on a target website. We look at: what keywords your competitors are ranking for and estimate how much traffic they're receiving, where do their backlinks come from (since backlinks are an essential component of SEO), a timeline of their backlink building process, the anchor text distribution, what is their site speed, what is their content management system, how SEO-friendly is their underlying HTML code. Don't worry if some of the terms are too technical and you don't understand them. We do. They are not just jargons thrown around to make us sound impressive. We know what each term means and more importantly we know how to make use of the data and information we gain to your advantage, but only if you're one of our clients.
